Graduation….

Posted by brdesigns on May 30, 2009

Vanessa will be graduating from Kindergarten.

I designed an invitation for that special moment.

I am so proud of her. She is a big girl now…going to elementary school next August.

Time flies…..but she’ll always be my little princess.

Mario Benedetti

Posted by brdesigns on May 20, 2009

Mario Benedetti passed away on May 17. He was 88 years old. He was not well known in the English-speaking world, but in the Spanish-speaking world he was considered one of Latin America’s most important 20th-century writers. Benedetti was extremely important to the Uruguayan society, especially because of his history as an exile and as an outspoken critic during the military dictatorship in the 1970s and 1980s.

Many years ago my father gave me as a gift one of his books: “La Tregua” (The Truce)  and I read it on my way to visit my fiance {now husband} in NYC. I cried my eyes out  in the airplane and understand all “Treguas” that we have to make everyday in our lives.

I spent many days and nights reading “La Tregua”, “El cumpleanos de Juan Angel”, “Primavera con una esquina rota” and “La noche de los feos”. I never meet him in person, but knew him through his literature. His words were so simple, that made our generation read poetry. Thank you for the opportunity you gave many people {including me} to read your work.

Many bloggers wrote about the writer and the man. Here is my favorite quote:
“….by dedicating one of his poems that ultimately said the things that one would have wanted to say, but maybe did not have enough talent to say it in such a clear, frank, simple and beautiful way” {Modestamente Humano}

This week’s Real Party feature is wild!

The theme was created to celebrated AIM’s Baby Shower. The invitations were custom made by BR Designs.

The centerpieces, tablecloths and decorations were hand made just for the occasion.

Let’s start with the invitation.

Calling Cards

Posted by brdesigns on May 18, 2009

I love to use my calling cards. The uses are endless:

My daughter has many play dates with her school friends, I do not stay in all of them. What I do, is leave a calling card with all my info {Cel. number, allergies, e-mail} with her.

Use them as a gift enclosure. Or give them as a gift to a new Mommy, housewarming, newly weds, teachers or family.

Give one to new people you meet {other moms}. They will love the idea!

Here are some designs for calling cards. Some of them includes sparkly stones that match your design. Ask for the Diamond Collection.

Scary Moment!

Posted by brdesigns on May 17, 2009

Do not ask me how, but all my computer’s programs were deleted yesterday…..two minutes of silence….AHHHHHH!!!!

One year of custom designs lost? All my info lost?

Well, not exactly. Jaime came to the rescue and fix my computer….everything was there.

I guess that is one of the many reasons I married the guy.
